Choose a Unique Colour
CMYK process printing
When an image is prepared for printing in CMYK processing printing, the electronic file is divided into 4 primary colours, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black.
Then the image is recreated using a screen tint made up of tiny dots which are applied at different angles to the 4 colours.
The result is a colour separation of 4 separate images that when they are transferred to printing plates and consecutively printed on a printing press with 4 primary colours, reproduces the original colour image.
The CMYK process of printing is widely used in the graphic arts and commercial printing industry for the accurate reproduction of colour images and text.
Features of CMYK process printing
- 4 standard base colours (CMYK) are used;
- Printed image is organised by tiny dots in 4 colours at different angles;
- Widely-used and cost-effective.
